Gediminas Endriekus was born in western Lithuanian town Plungė on September 21, 1982. Since early childhood he was engaged in creative activities and liked to create figures and model using plasticine, later he developed an interest in biology, anthropology, archeology and music. 2001 to 2005 he studied bachelor in sculpture in Telšiai – the Faculty’s Design Department of Vilnius Academy of Arts. Gediminas begans his career as a bronze caster and at the same time, while working at the bronze foundry in Vilnius, started to create his own work quite intensively. In 2015 he opens his the first solo exhibition. Since 2016 – became the member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association. In 2016 he opens private art studio.
He is a quite closed personality. The shapes of his sculptures are usually calm, soft and natural: standing, moving or sitting abstract human figures, soft, stiffed in their movements. Endriekus portrays surrealistic creatures that either reminiscent forms of the plants or turn into geometric shapes. Endriekus is concerned about human nature and the meaning of existence, so his works are quite philosophical, reflecting human emotions, dilemmas of life and sometimes irony.
